The intuitively-designed skye fits onto any 30-pin docking station and allows wireless control of the streamed music through a skye control app. Unlike Bluetooth, the skye is not limited to a certain wireless range. Transmission is even possible through walls and furniture.
This 2x2-inch, lightweight device is a WiFi receiver for any music dock. In an increasingly Bluetooth-enabled world, Auris founder and CEO Jay Shah was looking for a solution to bring older audio technology up to date without having to replace it. skye’s wireless technology allows users to stream and control their favorite tunes from an iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch, Android, Windows Phone or iTunes (Mac/PC) within a WiFi network with AirPlay and DLNA support.
The intuitively-designed skye fits onto any 30-pin docking station and allows wireless control of the streamed music through a skye control app. Unlike Bluetooth, the skye is not limited to a certain wireless range. Transmission is even possible through walls and furniture.
Users who would like to use the capabilities of skye but do not have a 30-pin on their speaker system can simply connect the optional 30-pin to AUX 3.5mm + USB cable and use skye with any standard headphone jack, 3.5mm input (or any line level input, given a 3.5mm to stereo RCA adapter). Alternately they can also use a charging dock with a 3.5mm AUX output. The device is compatible with all audio formats and weighs only 0.04 ounces.
skye retails on Auris’ website for $79.99. One can also buy two devices for a discounted price of $149.98. Skye is available in Arctic White and Piano Black.
