Plenue 1 is a portable audio device capable of 24bit/192kHz and DSD high resolution playback and it is based on the Cowon’s know-how in high quality media players. According to the press release, it uses an embedded OS based on Cortex dual-core, enabling reliable and optimized playback and a nice GUI as well.
The design of the media player includes one-piece aluminum case processed through CNC and diamond cutting to complete a seamless full metal housing. The product surface is hard anodized for resistance to scratch and impact. The device offers both physical (for lecel adjustment) and GUI (via a touch screen, for more advanced functions) controls, the later optimized to operate the product easily with one hand.
Plenue 1 is based on a Burr-Brown’s PCM1792A (with a temperature controlled crystal oscillator for the clock) and its overall design offers high SNR (120dB), low THD+N (0.0006%) figures and, also an impressive low crosstalk at -134dB.
FLAC, WAV and other formats such as DXD, DSD are supported and Plenue 1offers the latest JetEffect 7 sound processor, to provide sound optimization. The player offers an optical digital output and features 128GB of internal memory and a micro SD card slot. The touchscreen is a 3.7-inch/16M color AMOLED.
