Award-winning British loudspeaker brand Q Acoustics introduced an all-new range of Hi-Fi stereo and home cinema loudspeakers. The 3000 Series consists of five new designs: two bookshelf models, a floorstanding model, an active subwoofer and a dedicated home cinema center channel speaker.
The new 3000 Series tweeter is a revolutionary 2-in-1 concentric ring dome design which embodies the sonic advantages of both ring radiator and dome type high frequency drivers, namely their low distortion and wide dispersion. For an even better sonic performance, the tweeter is also mounted into a butyl rubber, resonance canceling housing, the company says. The tonal quality of the bass/midrange drivers has been improved by upgrading the cone material to a mix of paper/aramid fibers.
According to the press release, crossovers are also improved, boasting more audiophile components, including u-core inductors to reduce cross-talk between components. A fourth order Linkwitz/Riley design is employed, which minimizes phasing problems between the drivers at the crossover frequency.
The new 3000 Series benefits from numerous advanced cabinet features imported from the award winning Q Acoustics Concept Series loudspeakers. The 3000 Series’ new ultra-low resonance cabinet design boasts dual layer front and top panels, pivotal internal bracing and “minimal” rear mounted terminal plates. All these features enhance cabinet strength, minimize resonance and reduce distortion by enabling the speaker’s drive units to perform at their very best, the company says.
Aesthetics of the 3000 Series makes a striking design statement. As well as traditional Matte Graphite and American Walnut finishes, the 3000 models are also available in premium Lacquered Gloss Black and Lacquered Gloss White finishes along a new Black Leather effect finish.
The Q Acoustics 3000 Series include the 3010 and 3020 Compact Bookshelf/Stand mount models, the 3050 Floorstander, the 3090C - center channel loudspeaker and the 3070S – subwoofer. There is also a set for 5.1 multichannel installations, the 3000 Cinema Pack.
