With connectivity accented on digital audio, as well as a plethora of analog line-level inputs, and a phono input, the 240i can easily become the one-box centerpiece of your music and entertainment system. With it’s full external control (including Control4 driver available), the 240i will drive even inefficient and complex low impedance speaker loads without difficulty featuring a power stage yielding 50W per channel at 8-Ohm loads, the company states.
Connectivity includes 3 line-level inputs including a front-mounted 3.5mm mini-jack for personal media players, as well as 4 standard digital inputs (2 coaxial and 2 optical) and a USB port for hi-res audio streaming, supporting up to 32-bit/384kHz and DSD256 PCM and DSD streams respectively. The 240i also includes a moving magnet phono input and features a 1/4-inch TRS jack headphone output. Analog inputs are configurable to “pass-through” mode, for use with a home-theater processor, whose own volume control is used. The amplifier offers a simple setup via on-board software menu and an OLED screen.
Other key features you’d expect in a Moon product, such as the SimLink, RS-232 and IR ports for custom-install environments and the 10 year full warranty, are also present.
