Falcon Acoustics introduced their Reference Audio Monitor (R.A.M.) loudspeaker range, alongside with an interesting mix of some of the most revered and modern designs, including a hand-building version of the world-famous LS3/5a monitor exclusively to the original BBC spec.
According to the press release, there are three models in the range, all of which have 25mm MDF cabinets in European Walnut, High Gloss Black or Burr Walnut real wood veneers complete with hand-made leather baffles, and feature interchangeable side panels to match any surrounding. Falcon’s commitment to quality is further shown by the use of heavy-duty Falcon-designed rear terminals, mounted on 2mm stainless steel plates. For the floor-standing Studio 30, a heavy plinth is provided complete with CNC precision-engineered stainless steel spikes.
According to the press release, the Studio 10, the smallest in the range, is a 2-way ported stand-mount speaker utilizing a 150mm polypropylene cone woofer and custom 25mm soft dome tweeter. The system is designed to deliver a smooth response with outstanding detail, precise imaging and an extended sound stage in a stylish stand-mount format Falcon states. The Studio 20 is a larger stand mount 2-way ported speaker utilizing a 170 mm polypropylene cone bass unit especially selected for extended bass and accuracy, and a custom 25 mm soft dome tweeter. Last but not least, the Studio 30 is a 3-way floorstander, featuring twin 170 mm polypropylene cone woofers especially made for Falcon and a proprietary Falcon 50 mm dome midrange driver, which hands over to a custom 25 mm dome tweeter. This configuration offers music lovers exceptional midrange detail and an even tonality throughout, Falcon says.
