With a choice of bookshelf or floorstanding models, and a powerful center and subwoofer, the Monitor Series delivers detailed audio resolution in both two-channel and multi-channel configurations, while their orange driver cones and white, black and walnut finishes offer a contemporary focus to the sleek proportions and bring fun and functionality across the range. Combining the C-CAM (Ceramic-Coated Aluminum Magnesium) dome tweeter from Monitor Audio’s multi award-winning Bronze series with a creative use of the mid/bass drivers’ configuration, the speakers are tuned to deliver a truly musical performance.
The orange translucent MMP II (Metal Matrix Polymer) driver cones add a stylish touch and the use of 5.5-inch and 6.-inch drivers have delivered a compact bookshelf and a slim floorstanding model together with a larger bookshelf and a top-of-the-range floorstander, to complement larger rooms and higher power applications. HiVe II (High Velocity, Low Noise Reflex Port) technology offers an improved transient response and tighter bass, due to smoother airflow, the company says. Outrigger feet on floorstanding models deliver a sleeker appearance, takes up less floor space and improves stability.
The Monitor 50's modern square cabinets complement the 5.5-inch MMP II drivers and 25 mm black C-CAM tweeters. By placing the tweeters in the top corner of the speakers, Monitor Audio has been able to reduce the size of the cabinet and give a unique appearance. The Monitor 100s feature a 6.5-inch MMP II bass driver complemented by a 25 mm black C-CAM tweeter. With a larger bass driver and bigger cabinet, the 100s deliver a more expansive and punchy sound. Two sets of binding post terminals on each speaker allow for bi-wiring or a bi-amp set up. To maintain their compact proportions, and to allow positioning in the most confined locations, the speakers are rear ported.
The slim Monitor 200s are the smallest floorstander in the range and feature two 5.5-inch MMP II drivers combine to provide powerful, punchy bass lines. The mid-driver is crossed over to the black C-CAM tweeter higher up in frequency, resulting in perfect phase. The Monitor 300s are the top-of-the-range model and have been designed to give maximum power and performance, using three 6.5-inch MMP II bass drivers: two dedicated to bass and one to mid-range frequencies.
The Monitor C150, designed to be used as a dialogue loudspeaker in a multichannel system, features a sealed enclosure and twin 5-5-inch MMP II drivers to give precise clarity and intelligibility to movie dialogue presentation. The Monitor MRW-10’s, the series' active sub, uses a cabinet made from 18 mm thick MDF and accommodates a 10-inch long-throw MMP II bass driver loaded by a rear-firing port. Amplification is based on an on-board 100 W class D power amplifier, offering three preset EQ mode settings (Music, Movie, Impact).
All the loudspeakers in the Monitor series are already available in Black, White or a Walnut finish, with a contrasting gray baffle.
