Mytek's new Liberty Digital-to-Analog converter, is a PCM/MQA/DSD USB 2 device, designed for high quality music playback and monitoring of all high resolution formats, featuring several digital inputs, digital volume control, unbalanced as well as balanced audio outputs, and a high-performance headphone amplifier.
Designed as a little brother of the original Brooklyn DAC, around the ES9018 Sabre chip-set, the Liberty DAC provides robust performance, ability to stream MQA masters and state-of-the-art headphone output in a small 1/3 rack package. It’s also intended for general music studio use and desktop systems, as well as audio installations.
The new device supports up to 384k, 32bit PCM and native DSD, up to DSD256 and DXD streaming, offering a 127dB dynamic range and a built-in certified hardware MQA decoder. There is a USB 2 Class 2 port (compatible with all formats and sample rates), an AES/EBU (PCM up to 192k, up to DSD64/DOP), two S/PDIF (PCM up to 192k, up to DSD64/DOP) and two Toslink/ADAT S/PDIF (PCM up to 192k, up to DSD64/DOP) inputs. Analog output is via one pair of unbalanced RCA and one pair of balanced TRS 6.4mm jacks.
Liberty's digital part is clocked by a low noise, 10pS jitter clock generator and a high current, high transient headphone amplifier is included. The amplifier is capable of 300mA/3W through a single unbalanced headphone jack and it is designed with hard-to-drive 0.1 Ohm impedance headphones on mind. An input for optional, external 12VDC/Battery power supply is, also, included.
Liberty is upgradeable via USB via Mytek Control Panel app for Mac and PC and is already available in black (only) with a MSRP of $995.
