The new MASS Surround Sound system is designed to deliver full-scale audio fidelity from compact, elegant loudspeaker cabinets that will augment any interior. Packing plenty of Monitor Audio’s acknowledged loudspeaker expertise inside a choice of sophisticated cloth covers, MASS is a discreet, stylish system capable of truly immersive sound.
According to the press release, the MASS is quick and easy to set up and brings a genuinely enthralling surround sound experience to any room with all the 360-degree excitement of games, films and music, and a new acoustic standard.
The system comprises five high-performance satellite loudspeakers and a subwoofer and is available in Midnight (blue/black) or Mist (white/gray) finish. Bespoke cloth covers give the feel of a luxury piece of soft furnishing while remaining acoustically transparent.
The MASS Satellite loudspeakers can be placed around the room on surfaces or by using their unique and graceful MASS Stands. Alternatively, the satellites can be mounted on-wall using special mounts (MASM).
Each satellite features a 3.5-inch mid/bass driver with MMPII (Metal Matrix Polymer) cone and a 0.75-inch soft dome tweeter, in a fiber-reinforced sealed enclosure. The subwoofer is an active design, featuring a 15mm MDF cabinet with a 18mm baffle and uses a DSP-assisted, 120W, Class D amplifier, driving an 8-inch long-throw MMP II driver.
