Metronome has enriched their Digital Sharing series with a Network player that supports high-resolution streaming from home network resources, at the high quality level for which the French company is well-known.
DSs supports PCM streams up to 32-bit/384kHz and DSD streams up to DSD64 (via DoP) and can be connected to the home network via wired Ethernet. The user also has access to two USB ports where external storage media can be connected.
Connection of the DSs to the rest of the system can only be done digitally (ie, a separate DAC is required) and the user has at his disposal three standard digital outputs, two S/PDIF (coaxial/RCA and optical/Toslink) and an AES/EBU (XLR), while there is also the possibility of connection via HDMI/I2S, if the DAC supports this.
The device can be operated by any music streaming application, compatible with iOS and Android, as long as DLNA or UPnP protocols are supported.
DSs is available in two colors, black and silver.
