Following the apparently successful DC Block, the well -known manufacturer presented a larger device, which can meet the needs of a complete system. The DC Block 6 is exactly what its name indicates. A filter with six outputs and an overall current capacity up to 10A.
Like the smaller model, the DC Block 6 should be connected between the wall power outlet and the devices the user wants to protect. To do this, either the cables included in the package (six IEC C14/C13) or any other compatible power cable could be used.
The filter's two functions are, firstly, to suppress the direct current (DC) component that may appear on the mains supply and, secondly, to reject the RFI/EMI noise from entering the system, through the power lines.
Regarding the DC component -if it appears at a significant level- it can lead to power transformer overload, which means reduced performance and mechanical noises. The high frequency noise suppression filter works for both common mode noise, induced into all lines from external sources, such as telecommunications devices, as well as differential mode, for noise induced by devices connected to the power network, such as switch-mode power supplies.
The DC Block 6 uses Audiolab's standard chassis and features a voltmeter to check the power linr voltage at any time. Each power outlet can manage up to 8A. It is available in silver and black.
