Austrian Audio enters the high-end audio market with The Composer premium reference headphone and Full Score one premium headphone amplifier.
The company was founded in 2017 after the closing of the AKG headquarters in Vienna, due to a takeover in 2016. The core team is comprised of highly skilled ex-AKG personnel. Austrian Audio has since made a name for itself by producing professional headphones and microphones.
Austrian Audio’s technicians had designed benchmark pro- and consumer headphones for AKG for decades. The Composer draws upon this experience and shines with exceptional clarity, intricate detail, and natural sound, creating a wide stereo image, the company says. According to the press release, the bass response is unmatched in precision and accuracy, offering audiophiles an unrivaled and delightful listening experience that reveals every nuance of the music.
The headphones feature the exclusive Hi-X (High Excursion) technology. The headphones boast a 49 mm driver that incorporates a precision CNC machined ring magnet system, featuring N52 magnets known for their exceptional strength. This unique ring design not only enhances airflow but also delivers the most powerful magnetic field in its class. Moreover, the diaphragm of the HI-X49 DLC driver is coated with diamond-like carbon (DLC), making it exceptionally rigid and shifting the break-up frequencies to higher levels. This critical feature determines the point at which the membrane ceases to behave like a piston and perfectly follows the sound signal.
The headphones are incredibly comfortable, with all touch points, including the soft and durable memory foam ear pads, meticulously designed to ensure the best fit for the listener's ears. The headband features a mesh to avoid perspiration, and it can be adjusted to ensure an even fit on the head.
According to the press release, the Full Score One features a proprietary technology called "True Transient Technology" that ensures the amplifier delivers even the steepest transients unaltered to the listener. Short, output voltage invariant, rise time, combined with a high maximum slew rate, ensure full bandwidth and reproduction of finest subtleties of recordings.
