The new Onkyo Icon Series featuring the P-80 network preamplifier, M-80 power amplifier, and A-50 network integrated amplifier? delivers powerful, pure sound through an exquisitely designed modern chassis that house advanced technologies for superior audio performance.
The new series is technology-packed, including Dirac Live for 2 Channel Dirac Live with optimized music signals to the listening room amd featuring Asahi-Kasei's new premium stereo DAC chip (the 32bit/768kHz AK4452) in both the new P-80 and A-50 models. According to the press release, all devices feature Onkyo'?s proprietary DIDRC, (Dynamic Intermodulation Distortion Reduction Circuity), which reduces beats generated in the ultra-high frequency band.
The P-80 Preamplifier features HDMI ARC, Dirac Live Room Correction (Limited Version 20Hz-500Hz), (w/DLBC/ART option), Wi-Fi/Airplay2/Chromecast and Bluetooth. The device is Roon Ready and includes a phono stage (MM/MC). The streamer supports Spotify Connect, TIDAL Connect, Qobuz Connect, Amazon Music, TuneIn, and QQ Music.
The Icon M-80 is a 2-channel power amplifier (200W at 4 ohm, 150W at 8 ohm-loads), featuring a symmetrical Class AB 3-stage Inverted Darlington output stage,a fan-less design, a custom high current power supply, and an extrusion aluminum heat sink that suppresses vibration.
The Icon A-50 Integrated Amplifier, features the same output stage design as the M-80 but yields 180W at 4 ohm and 140W at 8ohm-loads and offers HDMI ARC, Dirac Live Room Correction (full bandwidth is optional), Wi-Fi, Airplay 2, Chromecast and Bluetooth connectivity. The device is Roon Ready and includes a phono stage (MM/MC). Streaming offerings are the same as in the preamp.
All models will be available during the last quarter of 2025.
