Cambridge Audio unveiled a bold new step for the brand: the L/R Series, a family of advanced active stereo speakers made for music, but -also- designed to offer a life-style oriented solution.
The L/R Series comprises of three models L/R X, L/R M and L/R S. L/R X and L/R M both integrate Cambridge Audio?'s Stream Magic Gen 4 platform, delivering seamless high-resolution Wi-Fi streaming, multi-room functionality and direct access to leading music services. They also introduce an innovative torus-chambered tweeter and an advanced 2.5-way acoustic design.
For listeners seeking a more compact, stripped-back solution, L/R S offers Cambridge sound quality in a Bluetooth-focused design, perfect for desks, bedrooms or kitchen counters, the company states.
The L/R X is the flagship of the series, featuring Cambridge Audio's newly developed 28mm torus-chambered tweeter, paired with dual 5-inch woofers and dual 6-inch force-canceling passive radiators. The system is driven by 800W of Class D amplification, 400W per speaker and features Wi-Fi or Ethernet streaming of Tidal Connect, Spotify Connect, Qobuz Connect, Amazon Music, Deezer, ROON Ready, UPnP and Internet Radio, as well as multi-room use through Google Cast or Apple AirPlay 2.
L/R M brings the power, personality and engineering philosophy of L/R X into a more compact, versatile form, shares the same Stream Magic foundation, 2.5-way acoustic design, and 28mm torus-chambered tweeter, packing 300W of system power, 150W per speaker and comprehensive connectivity, including HDMI eARC, Bluetooth, moving-magnet phono stage, USB Audio, Toslink and subwoofer out.
Last, but not least, L/R S distills the L/R philosophy into its purest, most accessible form. Powered by 100W of optimized Class D amplification, 50W per speaker, offers Bluetooth aptX HD wireless connectivity and an array of physical connections including USB Audio support for your laptop or desktop.
Designed and engineered in London, all three models will be available in a choice of six distinctive colors and finishes, allowing sound and style to live side by side.
The L/R S will be available from spring 2026, while the two other models will be available starting summer 2026.
