Ideon Audio announced the world premiere of the Axiom DAC, their new flagship DAC, to be presented on April 2nd at Park Avenue Audio, New York, in collaboration with its U.S. distributor, 2WA Group.
Ideon Audio CEO George Ligerakis and Chief Designer and VP Vasilis Tounas, will introduce the Axiom DAC and present the philosophy and engineering behind the company’s most ambitious project to date.
Following its New York debut, the Axiom DAC will also be demonstrated at AXPONA (Audio Expo North America) in Chicago, taking place April 10–12, offering a wider audience the opportunity to experience the system in a reference-level environment.
The Axiom DAC represents the culmination of decades of expertise in digital design, power architecture, precision engineering, and signal integrity, the company says. At its core, the Axiom employs a sophisticated 16-channel hybrid parallel DAC architecture, operating in a fully differential configuration. This design combines conversion technologies with proprietary firmware developed entirely in-house, achieving exceptional linearity, ultra-low noise and distortion, and remarkable dynamic range.
Equally critical is the Axiom’s power infrastructure. With over 2kW of available power, delivered through an ultra-low impedance architecture, the system provides instantaneous current without compression, the company says.
Signal integrity is governed by Ideon Audio’s proprietary USBCore and ChronoCore technologies, which perform multi-stage buffering, re-clocking, and isolation of incoming digital signals. These systems regenerate and re-time the signal with extreme precision, effectively eliminating timing errors and dramatically reducing jitter, Ideon states. A dedicated, oversized power supply ensures absolute stability during this process, reinforcing the integrity of the entire signal path.
In the Axiom architecture, all incoming digital signals, whether USB, S/PDIF or AES/EBU — are first received and processed by the digital front-end platform, where they undergo USBCore signal management, multi-layer electrical isolation, and ChronoCore precision re-clocking. Only once the signal has been fully stabilized and synchronized is it transferred to the DAC conversion engine through the Quantum Sync Interface.
This interface is a dedicated high-integrity signal link, consisting of a precision-engineered cable, a reference-grade LEMO connector, and a controlled transmission technique. As a result, the signal reaching the DAC is already re-clocked, phase-aligned, electrically isolated, and stabilized within Axiom’s internal timing domain, ensuring that conversion occurs free from transport-induced timing instability.
Control of the Axiom DAC is managed through Ideon Audio’s newly developed Director application, designed specifically for this platform. The application provides full system control, intuitive access to settings and filters, and serves as the foundation for integration with future Ideon Audio products, combining usability with the technical sophistication of the hardware.
Each unit is hand-built in Greece with uncompromising attention to detail. Production is strictly limited, reinforcing Ideon Audio’s commitment to craftsmanship, exclusivity, and absolute performance.
