Klipsch aspires to reset the benchmark for powered speakers with the introduction of their next generation: The Fives II, The Sevens II and The Nines II, which embody the legendary American sound created by founder, Paul W. Klipsch in 1946.
With Klipsch's patented horn-loaded technology, now powered by Onkyo's precision Japanese engineering with an all-new electronics package, designed and engineered by Onkyo engineers in Osaka, Japan, the new models try to redefine the category. The simplified set up and integration of industry-leading technologies including Dirac Live and Dolby Atmos, further expand the immersive listening experience to bring music, movies, and entertainment, vividly to life, the company says.
Building on the success of the award-winning original, the new series features a re-engineered acoustic system that elevates performance, featuring a new single piece BMC baffle (a composite material based on fiber glass) with integrated, patented Tractrix horn, delivering wider sound dispersion with clearer, more defined bass thanks to Klipsch's powerful Jet Cerametallic woofers (5.25, 6.5 and 8-inch) delivering an improved frequency response, according to the press release.
The new models feature Dolby Atmos for rich, multidimensional sound, while The Nines II also add DTS:X support for additional format compatibility. The Sevens II and The Nines II also include advanced room correction with the included Dirac Live Room Correction (albeit the limited bandwidth version).
Connectivity includes an HDMI 2.1 input, HDMI eARC, digital optical, coaxial, analog input, and USB-C playback. Though bass is strong, for those wanting more, a subwoofer output is included. For vinyl enthusiasts, all models offer a dedicated analog input with a built-in phono stage, making it easy to connect a turntable without needing a separate phono preamp. The Nines II goes beyond the home entertainment experience and straight to the studio, with the addition of XLR inputs, making this model a versatile monitor option for both home and professional recording applications.
The Fives II, The Sevens II and The Nines II feature built-in streaming, including integration with the top streaming platforms, including: Google Cast, Apple AirPlay 2, Spotify Connect, Tidal Connect, Qobuz Connect, Roon Ready and more. All models offer high-res audio playback, up to 24-Bit/96kHz. Additionally, The Sevens II and the Nines II feature an optional wireless connection to link the left and right speakers for ultimate versatility in placement and ease of setup.
