In their 80th anniversary year, Onkyo unveiled the Muse Series, a line of compact, high-powered, all-in-one, 2-channel Network Integrated Amplifiers delivering unparalleled high-fidelity performance and cutting-edge streaming technology.
More than an amplifier, the Muse Series becomes a vibrant entertainment hub for today's streaming music lovers, moving the senses, igniting emotion, and setting a new benchmark for uncompromising Hi-Fi, all within a sleek, modern, and remarkably compact design, the company claims.
The new Muse Series continues Onkyo's legacy with the Y-50 and Y-40 models, that feature Axign Class D amplifiers with high-current MOSFET transistors and a vibrant 5.46-inch color LCD display, offering song metadata, an analog-style VU meter, and effortless browsing of streaming services.
The new series introduces a newly designed volume knob and heat-dissipation vents adorned with the traditional Japanese San Kuzushi pattern, an elegant nod to Onkyo's cultural heritage.
The Y-50 features Onkyo's Room EQ built-in room calibration and features a fully digital circuit and delivers 250 watts per channel into 4 ohms. Connectivity includes three pairs of analog RCA inputs, a coaxial digital input, a phono stage (MM/MC), and HDMI/HDMI ARC input with HDMI output for video and gaming audio. It also supports Ethernet and Wi-Fi for high-quality streaming playback, plus a subwoofer pre-out and upgraded speaker terminals.
The Y-40 delivers 150 watts per channel into 4 ohms and offers Bluetooth, turntable, CD player, AUX, or TV connectivity.
Both amps stream seamlessly from built-in platforms including Spotify Connect, Tidal Connect, Qobuz Connect, Chromecast and AirPlay 2. The Onkyo Controller app (available on all app stores) allows full control and customization for a truly immersive Hi-Fi experience.
The Muse Series is offered in sleek black and silver finishes. The Y-50 model is priced at $1,499 U.S. MSRP, while the Y-40 is available for $999 U.S. MSRP. The Muse Series will be available in May 2026.
