MoFi Master Phono

Let's be honest—we've gotten used to MoFi by now. At first, their venture into audio gear felt a bit unexpected. After all, we knew them as a vinyl record producer. But the way they approached this new market? Impressive. No flashy claims, no unnecessary hype—just solid products. Currently, their catalog is well-rounded, covering turntables, cartridges, phono preamps, DACs, and even loudspeakers. And behind most of their designs? Big names with serious credentials. Take Peter Madnick, for example—the guy behind the device we're testing here. He's worked on designs for Constellation, ELAC's amplifiers, and was even a co-founder of the legendary Audio Alchemy (remember them?). That alone sets some high expectations. A phono preamp from MoFi carries a certain weight, given their deep roots in the vinyl world. So, naturally, we expect big things from the MasterPhono. If anyone knows what a great phono preamp should do, it’s these guys—right?
