Show Report: Bryston - LG

Bryston demonstrated for the first time their new series of amplifiers which replaces the "Squared" and -as one might expect- were named "Cubed". The new series will include six models from the small 2.5B SST3 to the top 28B SST3.

L5 Reference preamplifier from BSC features a discrete component circuit, a stepped (255 steps) attenuator and will be upgradeable with phono and tone adjustment modules.

Cary Audio exhibits, included the DMS-500 network player and a new series of devices, the AiOS, addressed to a different, more style aware, audience. The first device is an integrated amplifier/streamer/DAC.



Dave is Chord Electronics' top DAC. It is based on FPGA technology for the entire digital processing chain, supports PCM up to 768kHz/DXD and DSD 4x and features a headphone amplifier.

Compact and portable projector from Cinemood. The device is in the final development stage (beta), it is adapted to the media viewing needs for children and families, and will be accompanied by corresponding applications and embedded content.

Clarion really respects the "Full Digital" term in this product series. The loudspeakers of the system feature a six-layer voice coil fed with specially processed digital signal streams. There is no D/A in the whole chain!

The always impressive (and ruinously expensive) Constellation Audio showed their Altair II preamplifier, the Hercules II monoblock power amp…

… and their first integrated amplifier in the Inspiration 1.0 series, which is known, simply, as Integrated.

Dan D'Agostino's Momentum Series phono preamplifier is, of course, a quite impressive piece of equipment. It is digitally controlled, with top quality components and an external power supply embedded in a plinth bellow the main chassis.

Dali showed the top floorstanding model from their new Opticon loudspeaker series.

This is the new version of the Ivy from EgglestoneWorks. The full name is Ivy Signature SE.

Emotiva showed two small, portable DAC/headphone amplifiers (Big Ego and Little Ego)…

… and the Emersa series which includes a preamplifier/DAC, a multi-channel processor, an integrated amplifier and power amplifiers (with 2, 5 and 7 channels).

Esoteric was present with the C-02X and S-02 pre/power amp pair…

… and the C-03XS/S-03 as well.






This year's CES was a good place to be for virtual reality peripherals. Here is the Fibrum system, a product that uses the screen of your smartphone and is reasonably priced.

A new top of the range loudspeaker from GamuT called Zodiac. It is the evolution of RS9 and the company said it would only build 12 pairs per year, one per symbol of the zodiac circle …

Goldenear unveiled a new subwoofer series called Supersub. Here, the internal structure of the larger model, the XXL.




Harman's Voyager Drive is a wireless loudspeaker designed to be used both in the car and outdoors.

Keith Monks introduced a new vinyl cleaning machine, the DisOvery microLight. According to the information published, it is very quiet and can be artwork-customized.

Kodak has decided to revive the 8mm cameras. Apart from the cameras themselves, the company will provide consumables (film) and film-development services. The machines, however, will include some "digital" features.

Krell presented the Digital Vanguard. It is based on last year's Vanguard integrated amplifier but includes a DAC and features PCM/DSD streaming, and supports Bluetooth.

The much discussed "Rollable" LG screen which can be operated under high bending conditions. The applications in the home environment are not exactly specified, but the technology is certainly impressive.

The company also presented the "Signature" series of premium household appliances. The series includes an OLED/4K TV.
