Show Report: LG - Philips

One of the showstoppers was the presentation of Super UHD from LG, a 4K TV Series up to 86 inches, which support HDR Plus and run the new webOS 3.0.

Livestream's Movi is a small personal 4K camera, suitable for live streaming. What makes it special is the integrated cropping software that allows the user to select and magnify any region of the captured stream.

Magico demonstrated for the first time the new version (MK II) of their smallest model in the S series, the S1. Based on the information published, the changes made are more than important.

No.519 is the new universal player from Mark Levinson. It is compatible with optical discs, can perform wireless and wired streaming, supports Spotify/Tidal /Rhapsody and other services and support all popular file formats.

Martin Logan displayed a new loudspeaker in the EM-ESL series. EM-ESL X is their top of the range model and uses (as usual) a standard electrodynamic woofer for the low end.

McIntosh presented three new products. The MX122, an AV processor that supports Dolby Atmos and DTS:X/Auro-3D audio and 4K/HDR video…

… the new MV50 streamer that supports Play-Fi technology from DTS for wireless transmission…





… and the RS100 wireless loudspeaker which can form the basis for the creation of a multi-room system (supporting up to 16 loudspeakers in 8 rooms).

Metronome Technologie demonstrated the Music Center 1 server with a capacity of 1 to 8TB and a ripping feature, as well as their CD-8 Transport/DAC system which supports DSD.

Meze is a new headphone manufacturer. The company displayed the 99 Classics, a system with wooden housing as well as the prototype of a new model to be called 77 Deco.

Micromega M-One is an integrated amplifier that includes almost everything. From a phono preamp and a DAC to a built-in room correction algorithm and wired/wireless streaming. The chassis is made from solid aluminum.

Monitor Audio displayed their renewed Platinum Series (Platinum II).

Mytek demonstrated the new Brooklyn Preamplifier/DAC/Headphone Amplifier and announced that the device will support the MQA technology.




NAD presented a new version of the M50 media player (M50.2) that offers 4TB capacity wired/wireless networking and an HDMI port. It has no built-in DAC.

Nagra showed a DAC for the Classic series. Based on their top HD DAC, supports PCM 24/384 and DSD 2x but lacks the level adjustment and the headphone amplifier of the later.

Naim Audio announced the next step in Mu-So series, the Qb. It is smaller than the original Mu-So, with a cubic shape and a lower price. Qb features five drivers and supports services like Spotify and Tidal.

Optoma/NuForce presented the new in-ear monitor series HEM. The series includes four models with a housing made of Lexan and top quality cable. Up to four balanced armature drivers are used, depending on the model.

Panasonic has confirmed the start of production for the DMP-UB900 UHD BD player. The device supports HDR and will be compatible with high-resolution audio (PCM/DSD).

The company showed also their new top of the range 4K UHD/LCD TVs series the DX900. These will, probably, be the first products that are certified both by THX and UHD Alliance. The backlight system features a new honeycomb structure that ensures much better dynamic control of its brightness.

XS phono preamplifier from Pass Labs is a dual mono design with discrete components and separate printed circuit boards per channel/input.

Philips presented a Fidelio series soundbar that supports Dolby Atmos. It is wireless and is accompanied by an active subwoofer.

The company also presented the Izzy series, which includes a collection of wireless loudspeaker models and a source, all designed to create a wireless multi-room system. This is the BM-7 wireless loudspeaker.
