Show Report (Part 1): Audeze - Belcanto

The Audeze presented their complete set of headphones. This their only closed type, the LCD XC.

First display of the Reference 50 system from Audio4Soul. Emphasis is given to customizing and upgrading through a selection of modules and to a wide variety of finishes. The basic idea behind Reference 50 is that the signal remains in digital form up to the output stage.

The new series “G” of Audio Research draws its name from Galileo and marks a clear change in the aesthetics of the company. Here, one of the two new power amps, the GS150…



… and here the preamplifier GSPre.

The oldest method of platter drive (with an idler wheel) revives through this design from Audio Silente, the BlackStone Syncro SE.

This is the drive mechanism in detail. Audio Silente manufactures idle wheels and other replacement parts for some popular vintage decks.

The Audio Solutions displayed two large floorstanding loudspeakers, the Rhapsody 200 (left) and Rhapsody 130 (right).

First display of a low cost moving coil cartridge from Audio Technica, the AT-F2. An interesting attempt to offer an MC at a low price range, interesting for those starting out in the field of vinyl reproduction.

Audium's Comp 3 is a nice, small and reasonably loudspeaker. Additionally one can buy either the passive or an active version.


Not a widely known company, Aune offers an interesting range of digital devices. Here is the media player S18 (24/192 capable, top) and the S16 DAC (32/384 and DSD, bottom)…

… as well as the smaller and sleeker X6, a media player that also supports SD cards.


Auralic's media bridge Aries made its first appearance at this year's Munich show, winning some quite positive impressions.


Auralic also showed some of their current products such as the headphone amp Gemini…

… the power amp Merak…


… and the headphone amp Taurus.


Auris Audio displayed their Forte 6550 monoblock featuring four 6550 in a push-pull, class A output stage that delivers 100W. According to Auris, All the passive components used are of top quality.

Auris also displayed the Largo, a preamplifier based on E88CC which is available in two versions, on with a standard regulated power supply and one that uses battery.

This is a new amp from Ayre. Called the MX-R Twenty, is expected during the next few months.

Amazon Audio revived the B-Lab phono, using a series/parallel feedback implementation for the de-emphasis circuit and a chassis made from one piece of aluminum.
