Show Report (Part 1): Soul Note - Totem

Soul Note demonstrated their SC300 BE CD player with a USB port (to stream audio files through its DAC) and the SA300 BE integrated amplifier that offers wireless streaming.

Spendor's new LPZ tweeter in their smallest D series loudspeaker, the D1.

L1 turntable from Sperling Audio stands out with its unique way to set the geometry of the arm.


Strausmann unique system architecture requires all analog sources to be connected directly to the power amplifiers (model E50, a DC coupled monoblock) through a special balanced line. The digital signal routing and the volume settings are performed by a separate controller. All the analogue signal processing is done at the power amps.

… but don't let the aesthetics to entice you to any hasty conclusions. This cut-out offers some signs of remarkable seriousness!

Thomas Mayer 's SE 211 's could be a little bit on the excessive side, however, there is -actually- a quite complete range of tube based amplifiers both in ready-made and kit form.

Thrax showed their Dionysos preamplifier…

… the hybrid monoblock Heros, with a class A FET output stage and a tube-based preamplifier…



… and, also, the Spartacus monoblocks, a direct heated triode, no feedback design. Each amplifier delivers 70W through two Emission Labs 520Bv3 in push-pull topology. KR PX25 are used both for the input and the phase inverter stage.

Tone Tool displayed their turntable Radius XX placed on top of one of the company's racks, the Radius X.

Tonmechanik Berlin is a company that offers repair, restore and improvement services on vintage analogue systems. Here, a Thorens TD124 in a different plinth, fitted with Tonmechanik's 12-inch tonearm.
